Front-End Engineer

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Full Stack / Front-End Engineer to build scalable applications and improve performance through advanced software engineering techniques. The ideal candidate would have a deep understanding of modern web development, mobile application development, cloud infrastructure, and data-driven modeling. This role will be instrumental in shaping our company's future and driving advancements in air quality technology through innovative full-stack solutions. To succeed in this position, candidates will need to be comfortable with the demands of a high-growth startup and have an energetic and problem-solving mindset. What we're looking for
Responsibilities

Full Stack Development:
-
Design and develop responsive web applications using TypeScript, React, or other modern frontend frameworks (Next.js, Vue.js, Angular)

Build robust backend services using Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Rust
-
Implement RESTful API endpoints for seamless data integration
-
Develop real-time dashboards and interactive visualizations for air quality data

Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile-responsive design

Front-End Design & Development
-
Understand user and company requirements to design and build valuable interfaces
-
Experience building webapp and mobile app interfaces
-
Expertise in responsive design

Cloud Infrastructure & Backend Systems:
-
Build and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, ECS)
-
Implement microservices architecture and serverless solutions
-
Design and optimize database systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
-
Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
-
Implement API gateways, load balancers, and auto-scaling solutions
-
Ensure security best practices and compliance standards

AI & Machine Learning Development::
-
Collaborate with atmospheric science team to develop advanced ML algorithms
-
Build and train models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other learning frameworks
-
Implement deep learning solutions for complex air quality phenomena
-

Maintain data inputs to the forecast engine:
-
Manage the necessary tokens or API keys required for downloading a range of crucial AQA engine inputs.
-
Update the source location for data inputs to the AQA Engine (Trace AQ backend) as necessary.

Qualifications
-
Startup experience. Early stage, Pre-Seed to Series A
-
Proven expertise in TypeScript, React, and at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Java, Go)
-
Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture
-
Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)

Experience with MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker)
-
Skilled in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
-
Proficient in SQL and NoSQL database systems
-
Experience with version control (Git) and agile development practices
-
Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
-
5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, software development, and data science
